＜南部鉄器とは？＞
奥州南部鉄器は、平安時代後期（1088年頃）に藤原氏が京都並びに近江の国から奥州市に鋳物師を招き、仏具や鍋釜を造らせたのが始まりで、伊達藩の保護を受け大きく発展しています。一方、盛岡の南部鉄器は、江戸時代（1600年代）南部藩主が京都から盛岡市に釜師を招き、茶釜を造らせたのが始まりです。

その後、両市の鉄器職人が昭和34年、友好的に交流し両産地で造られた鉄器を「南部鉄器」商標（ブランド）で販売することになりました。

鉄瓶で沸かしたお湯は、身体が吸収しやすい「二価鉄（にかてつ）」と呼ばれる鉄が含まれ、貧血予防に効果があります。代謝アップや便秘解消などに役立つ「白湯（さゆ）」をつくるために、鉄分補給もできて一石二鳥の商品。

＜お手入れ方法／注意事項＞
・使いはじめは、煎茶を一さじ、水を七分目くらい入れ、お茶を炊くように沸騰させます。
　　※内側に鉄と化合したタンニン鉄という皮膜ができます。
・使用後は、フタを開けておいてください。余熱で必ず乾燥させてください。
・最後までお湯を出し切ってください。残しておくとサビの原因になります。
・茶だんすなどの湿気の少ない場所で保管してください。
・外側がさびてしまった時は、乾いた布に湿ったお茶葉を含ませ、磨いてください。
・熱した直後は、非常に高温となりますので、鍋つかみ等でお持ちください。
・お送りさせていただいた状態とまったく同じ状態（専用個箱に入っている。鉄瓶が和紙で巻かれているなど）の時のみ、返品をお受けいたします。返品時の送料はご負担ください。

＜What is Nanbu Ironware?＞
Nanbu ironware from Oshu began in the late Heian period (around 1088) when the Fujiwara clan invited casters from Kyoto and Omi Province to Oshu City to create Buddhist implements and pots/kettles. It flourished under the protection of the Date clan. Meanwhile, Morioka Nanbu ironware originated in the Edo period (1600s) when the Nanbu domain lord invited kettle makers from Kyoto to Morioka City to craft tea kettles.

Later, in 1959, ironware artisans from both cities established friendly exchanges and began selling ironware produced in both regions under the “Nanbu Ironware” trademark (brand).

Water boiled in an iron kettle contains “ferrous iron,” a form of iron easily absorbed by the body, which helps prevent anemia. It's a two-in-one product: you can make “sayu” (hot water) to boost metabolism and relieve constipation while also supplementing your iron intake.

＜Care Instructions / Precautions＞
・When first using, add one spoonful of sencha tea leaves and fill with water to about 70% capacity. Bring to a boil as if brewing tea.
　　※This creates a protective layer of tannin iron inside.
・After use, leave the lid open. Always allow it to dry completely using residual heat.
・Always drain all remaining water. Leaving water inside causes rust.
・Store in a dry place, such as a tea cabinet.
・If the exterior rusts, dampen a dry cloth with moist tea leaves and polish it.
・Immediately after heating, the kettle will be extremely hot. Use oven mitts or similar protection when handling.
・Returns will only be accepted if the item is in the exact same condition as when shipped (i.e., in its original box, with the iron kettle wrapped in Japanese paper, etc.). The customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
